Liverpool star Giorgi Mamardashvili has this weekend moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of a member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona.
The player in question? Pedri.
Engine room standout Pedri was for his part back in action on the international front on Saturday night.
This came as Spain played host to Georgia, in a 2026 World Cup qualifying fixture.
When all was said and done, it was Luis de la Fuente’s hosts who emerged triumphant, by a scoreline of two goals to nil.
And Pedri played a leading role in as much, running proceedings from his berth in the middle of the park with typical class and poise.
Watching on in amazement in the Georgian goal, meanwhile, was the aforementioned Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, the Liverpool shot-stopper was quick to lavish praise on Pedri, explaining:
“Pedri is a maestro. He is very, very good and possesses a lot, a lot, a lot of quality.”
