A member of the defensive ranks at Premier League champions Liverpool has revealed that he is being urged by Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé to make the move to Spain’s capital next summer.
The player in question? Ibrahima Konaté.
Stopper Konaté has of course long seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Frenchman has been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Real Madrid.
Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Konaté is considered the ideal profile by Los Blancos.
As much comes in no small part owing to the fact that the 26-year-old’s Anfield contract is due to expire next summer.
And as alluded to above, eager for such a move to come to fruition is another high-profile star to have taken his talents to the Santiago Bernabéu on a free transfer in the recent past.
Asked if compatriot Kylian Mbappé is pushing for him to join him in Madrid during an interview with Téléfoot (as cited by TNT Sports) this weekend, Konaté, with a wry smile across his face, responded:
”He calls me every two hours!”
