Lionel Messi set for final talks with PSG

Lionel Messi is close to extending his stay with PSG.

According to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague, Messi will sign a contract extension that will see him stay with the Ligue 1 outfit beyond 2023.

Messi is reportedly happy with the agreement and when he returns from his holidays after winning the World Cup with Argentina, negotiations will speed up.

Over the past four months, PSG Director of Football Luis Campos has been in talks with the player’s father and there was a key meeting in Doha regarding Messi’s future during the World Cup between Messi senior and PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi.

There has been no offer from FC Barcelona for Messi, who is said to be still hurt from how his departure from Camp Nou was handled.
