Leroy Sané on Barcelona: “They have improved a lot compared to last season.”

After Bayern Munich’s 2-0 victory over Barcelona on Tuesday, Leroy Sané spoke to the media.

“Of course we have respect for them. They have extraordinary players in their team, no doubt about that. They have improved a lot compared to last season and they play better football now. In the beginning, we were a bit lucky. But sometimes that’s part of football. Luck was on our side and we are happy that we were able to get the 3 points,” he said in quotes reported by Marca.

Sané has become a regular in Julian Nagelsmann’s starting eleven, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 10 competitive games for the German side.

“I scored a goal but I didn’t play well. I’d rather not have scored and helped the team more,” he added.

“It’s important for him to be self-critical. I spoke to him. He was angry with himself and a little bit with everyone because we didn’t play well in the first half,” said Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
