Barcelona star Lamine Yamal on Tuesday night secured for himself a place in the history books of the club.
This came owing to his latest exploits on the continent.
Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago, making the trip to England for a Champions League showdown with Newcastle United.
With 95 minutes on the clock at St. James’ Park, Hansi Flick’s troops looked on course for a disappointing defeat, trailing by a goal to nil.
Cometh the hour, though, cometh the man…
After Dani Olmo did brilliantly to earn a penalty for the visitors, Lamine Yamal showcased leadership beyond his tender years, in stepping up from 12 yards.
And the 18-year-old made no mistake with his ensuing finish, slotting coolly into the bottom corner.
As much ensured that Barcelona will head back to the Spotify Camp Nou for the tie’s 2nd leg with their tails up.
And as alluded to above, crucial equaliser aside, Lamine also made history for the latest occasion on Tuesday.
As per a report from statisticians Opta:
‘At 95:50, Lamine Yamal scored Barcelona’s latest penalty goal in the UEFA Champions League.’
