Several leading figures in the first-team setup at Barcelona have sent messages of appreciation the way of teammate Robert Lewandowski.
This of course comes fresh off the Pole taking to the Spotify Camp Nou pitch as a Blaugrana player for the final time.
Lewandowski announced earlier this week that he will depart Catalunya’s capital in the summer, upon the expiration of his contract terms.
Following Barca’s final home outing of the campaign on Sunday night, the 37-year-old was therefore celebrated by players, fans and staff alike.
Two such members of Hansi Flick’s squad to have lavished praise on Lewandowski post-match were Gavi, and Raphinha.
The former explained to the media:
“I will miss Robert a lot. He is one of the best strikers in history. I always wish him the best. It’s a shame he’s leaving, he helped us so much.”
Winger Raphinha then added:
“Robert’s legacy will forever remain in this club. He is an example. It was a pleasure for me to play alongside him.”
Lamine Yamal, absent against Real Betis owing to injury, also took to social media, to label his departing teammate a ‘legend’:
