Lamine Yamal all but confirms that his ‘speak now’ comments were directed at Adrien Rabiot

Barcelona and Spain sensation Lamine Yamal has all but confirmed that his headline-grabbing post-match comments on Tuesday night were indeed directed at France star Adrien Rabiot.

For those who may have missed it, wide-man Lamine did not only turn heads owing to his stellar exploits on the pitch last night.

Fresh off guiding Spain into the finale of Euro 2024 courtesy of a Man of the Match display against the aforementioned France, the 16-year-old then made use of the opportunity to send an unwavering message.

Looking directly into a TV camera whilst celebrating on the pitch post-match Lamine repeatedly shouted:

‘Speak now! Speak now!’

The widespread takeaway was that as much came as a direct response to France star Adrien Rabiot, who had the following to say when drawn on Lamine’s talents in the buildup to the clash:

“If Lamine wants to play in the final, he will have to do much more than he has done (at the tournament) so far…”

During an ensuing exchange with the media in the aftermath of the full-time whistle on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when Spain’s attacking prodigy was asked exactly who his message was intended for.

And Lamine, as alluded to above, essentially confirmed that Rabiot was indeed the target, in responding:

“The person knows himself.”
