La Liga & Spanish football managers threaten collective strike

Managers and coaches across the Spanish football landscape have today threatened to take historic action.

That’s according to Marca, who have confirmed that a collective strike could be on the agenda, on the part of managers at every level of the game.

Why? Unpaid wages:

‘The situation of non-payments due to dismissals by clubs to their coaches has led the coaches to propose this measure of force to their National Committee.’

The proposal was laid out during Tuesday’s annual coaches’ meeting in Las Rozas.

A further sit-down on the part of the National Committee, in turn, has been pencilled in for tomorrow, during which it will be explained to the league that, if a suitable conclusion is not reached, a strike will follow.

Marca highlight the recent cases of Setien and Cervera as having triggered the fresh discontent across the managerial landscape in Spain, with coaches now prepared to take unprecedented action as a show of support to their fellow tacticians.
