La Liga rivals only willing to offer €5 million for Real Madrid star

The board at Real Betis are prepared to part with only a minimal sum, in efforts to land Dani Ceballos from La Liga rivals Real Madrid this summer.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of former Arsenal man Ceballos has remeerged as a prominent one in the transfer chatter surrounding Real Madrid over recent weeks.

This comes after new Blancos boss Xabi Alonso hinted that he is not a firm believer in the talents of the 28-year-old.

En route to the Spanish heavyweights being sent packing from the Club World Cup at the semi-final stage, Ceballos was afforded a grand total of just 71 minutes of playing time at the tournament.

As much has culminated in fresh speculation pointing towards a potential incoming Bernabéu exit for the midfielder.

The aforementioned Real Betis, for one, boast a long-term interest in Ceballos, eager for a reunion once more with a view to next season.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, however, then the Verdiblancos striking a deal with their Real Madrid counterparts over the coming weeks looks highly unlikely.

As per a report from AS:

‘The player is reportedly willing to lower his salary to return, but Betis would only offer Real Madrid €5 million, while Real Madrid would be asking for €15 million to sell him.’
