La Liga deal Barcelona a blow before Real Madrid

Barcelona have on Wednesday been dealt a blow, ahead of their upcoming showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.

That’s according to multiple sources across Spain, who have confirmed that Hansi Flick will not be eligible to take his place on the touchline for the clash.

Tactician Flick was of course given his marching orders during Barcelona’s latest La Liga outing this past weekend.

En route to a last-gasp 2-1 downing of Girona, the former Bayern Munich boss was shown a pair of yellow cards for protesting to the team of officials.

As much gave rise to a one-game suspension, which Barca quickly launched an appeal against.

As alluded to above, however, this appeal has since failed to bear fruit for those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.

As confirmed by Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, amongst others, Flick will not be on the touchline for El Clásico, after his one-game ban was upheld.
