Kylian Mbappé’s status for Real Madrid vs Getafe confirmed

Real Madrid will have star striker Kylian Mbappé available for the club’s return to action this weekend.

As much was confirmed by manager Xabi Alonso on Saturday.

Real Madrid are of course primed to kick their campaign back into gear tomorrow evening, in a La Liga meeting with capital rivals Getafe.

The aforementioned Mbappé had sparked widespread concern in the buildup to the fixture, after suffering a relapse of an ankle injury whilst on international duty with France.

The 26-year-old was spotted back in training on Friday, but speculation surrounding his status to face Getafe had nevertheless since been widespread.

Speaking during his pre-match press conference earlier today, Xabi Alonso was therefore inevitably asked for the latest on the wellbeing of his star goalscorer.

And Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to confirm the news that those of a Blancos peruasion had been desperately awaiting:

“Yes, Kylian Mbappé is back and can also start against Getafe.”
