Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé was responsible for a classy gesture during the club’s latest outing on Saturday.
As much came to the benefit of Vinícius Jr.
Real Madrid are of course currently locked in action on the domestic front.
After making short work of Kairat in the Champions League in midweek, Xabi Alonso’s troops welcomed Villarreal to Spain’s capital, for a La Liga clash.
And as things stand, Los Blancos are well on their way to a return to winning ways in league play, too.
As much comes owing to a brace on the part of the aforementioned Vinícius Jr.
After the Brazilian opened the scoring in proceedings courtesy of a deflected effort early in the 2nd-half, Vinícius then won a spot-kick for the evening’s hosts by way of a trademark dribble.
Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid’s first-choice penalty-taker, quickly grabbed the ball, with the expectation having been that the Frenchman would go on to take responsibility from 12 yards.
Instead, however, Mbappé opted to hand the ball over to attacking partner Vinícius, who slotted home to put Los Blancos two goals to the good.
Amid his ongoing pursuit of the Pichichi award, this proved a real show of togetherness on the part of Real’s top scorer.
