Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has provided an insight into his preferred opponent for the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
Real, of course, are fresh off booking their spot in the Last-16 of European football’s premiere club competition.
This comes owing to a 3-1 (6-3 on aggregate) victory over Premier League champions Manchester City.
The aforementioned Kylian Mbappé proved himself the star of the show, notching all three of Los Blancos’ goals amid a wonderful individual display.
Carlo Ancelotti’s Real are already aware of their two potential opponents in the Champions League’s Round-of-16, in the form of Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, and city rivals Atlético.
Speaking to the media post-match on Wednesday, the subject of which of these two sides he would rather face was therefore put to Man of the Match Mbappé.
And the France international went on to respond:
“Bayer Leverkusen or Atléti next? Both difficult but I prefer Atléti, so we save ourselves a trip!”
