Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Wednesday joined Manchester City counterpart Erling Haaland in an exclusive club.
This comes after the Frenchman found the net yet again for Los Blancos.
Real Madrid are currently locked in action on the domestic front, in a La Liga meeting with Ernesto Valverde’s Athletic Club.
Xabi Alonso’s visitors headed into proceedings with sights on a much-needed return to winning ways, after a trio of successive outings without as much over recent weeks.
And it was top scorer Kylian Mbappé who set Real on their way to as much inside the opening 10 minutes in Bilbao.
Picked out courtesy of a pinpoint switch on the part of Trent Alexander-Arnold, the 26-year-old embarked on a brilliant run, before picking out the far corner of the Athletic net with aplomb.
And as alluded to above, in the process, Mbappé levelled Erling Haaland in a leading category in Europe’s top-5 leagues this season.
As per ‘StatMuse’ on ‘X’, the former Paris Saint-Germain star has joined Manchester City standout Haaland as the player with the most combined goals and assists in the continent’s top leagues in 2025/26.
*Update* – After laying on an assist for Eduardo Camavinga, Mbappé has now overtaken Haaland.
