Kylian Mbappé opts for Xavi over Carlo Ancelotti in ‘The Best’ coach voting

The votes put forth by Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé for the latest ‘The Best’ coach award have come to the fore late on Monday.

And they may well come as something of a surprise, particularly to those of a Real Madrid persuasion.

It is of course common knowledge that Real have set their sights on Mbappé’s signature once more, ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

This comes as the French international’s contract terms in Paris inch ever closer to an end.

Mbappé, as a result, could well soon find himself playing under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti, widely considered to be one of world football’s finest ever tacticians.

Evidently, though, over the last 12 months at least, PSG’s star man feels as though Real’s headmaster has been out-coached by the man on the other side of the Clásico divide.

As alluded to above, this evening, the votes of players across the world of football, for FIFA’s annual ‘The Best’ coach accolade, were revealed.

And Mbappé did not view Ancelotti as being worthy of a place in his top-3.

Instead, the 25-year-old opted for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, former Napoli tactician Luciano Spalletti, and, in 3rd, Barcelona’s Xavi Hernández.

Interestingly, these are also the coaches chosen by Lionel Messi to fill his podium, albeit with Xavi in 2nd, and Spalletti in 3rd.
