Xabi Alonso’s troops were of course back in action last night, making the trip to Catalunya to lock horns with Girona.
And though, when all was said and done, they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils, Mbappé for his part kept alive his scintillating stretch of form in front of goal.
The Frenchman levelled things up during the 2nd-half, courtesy of a penalty.
And in the process, Mbappé notched a piece of recent goalscoring history…
As revealed by Score90, the 26-year-old has now found the net 60 times for club and country across the calendar year to date.
Mbappé is just the 4th player to manage such a feat in the 21st century, after the iconic trio of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Robert Lewandowski:
