Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Saturday continued to etch his name into the history books of the club.
This comes after the Frenchman found the net for the latest occasion, in Los Blancos’ La Liga meeting with Valencia.
After Xabi Alonso’s troops were awarded a penalty kick inside the opening 20 minutes in Spain’s capital, Mbappé stood up to take responsibility.
And the former PSG man made no mistake with his finish from 12 yards, to put Real Madrid into a deserved lead.
Guiding Los Merengues towards a 10th win from 11 in La Liga aside, though, Mbappé’s latest strike also proved a significant one from a historical standpoint.
The 26-year-old has now found the net in eight consecutive outings in Spain’s top-flight.
And as revealed by statistician ‘MisterChip’ on ‘X’, he has in turn joined Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo as just the 2nd player in the club’s history to manage such a feat.
