Kylian Mbappé equalled a Cristiano Ronaldo record in Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona

Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé secured for himself a piece of recent Spanish football history in the club’s victory over Barcelona on Sunday.

This comes amid confirmation of the Frenchman levelling a benchmark on the part of none other than Cristiano Ronaldo.

Frontman Mbappé for his part opened the scoring in Spain’s capital yesterday evening, as Real Madrid put Barcelona to the sword by two goals to one.

And as revealed by statisticians Squawka, in the process, the Frenchman became ‘just the second Real Madrid player to score in four consecutive El Clásico games across all competitions in the 21st century’.

The first? Blancos icon Cristiano Ronaldo, back in 2012.

Mbappé, all told, has now found the net 11 times in 10 La Liga appearances across the campaign to date.

Taking into account the Champions League, too, the former PSG man has racked up a hefty 18 direct goal contributions in 13 appearances.
