Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé was overlooked for the Man of the Match prize in the club’s most recent outing. This came despite an individual performance featuring both a goal and an assist.
Real were back in action on Tuesday evening, making the trip to Elche for their third fixture in the space of the last week.
Upon the full-time whistle sounding in a pulsating affair, the visitors emerged on the right side of a 3-2 result, thanking a last-gasp Carlos Espí winner for their eventual three points.
The aforementioned Mbappé, meanwhile, was responsible for laying on the winner, after also putting Los Blancos two goals to the good during the first-half.
As alluded to above, though, these exploits were not enough to earn for the Frenchman the official ‘MVP award at The Estadio Martínez Valero.
Instead, the accolade went the way of teammate Arda Güler, who netted a brilliant free-kick to open the scoring amid another stellar individual showing on the part of the young Turk all told.
