La Liga giants Real Madrid will not be forced to contend with the talents of a leading member of the first-team ranks at Premier League champions Liverpool in their upcoming meeting with the Reds.
That’s according to The Athletic, who points towards Alisson Becker as the player in question.
Goalkeeper Alisson has for his part continued to play a starring role for Arne Slot’s Liverpool over the early weeks of the season, on his way to eight appearances across all competitions.
As confirmed on Thursday, however, the Brazilian has suffered an injury setback, by way of a hamstring problem.
Alisson could in turn be forced to sit out the next six weeks of action.
And in the case of this recovery schedule proving accurate, the former AS Roma standout will miss Liverpool’s upcoming clash with the aforementioned Real Madrid.
The two heavyweights of European football are scheduled to lock horns in the Champions League at Anfield on November 4th.
The evening’s hosts, however, look set to be without their long-time no.1
