A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was a notable absentee from the club’s latest training session on Friday.
That’s according to Jijantes, who point towards Pau Cubarsí as the player in question.
Youngster Cubarsí for his part set alarm bells sounding in Catalunya’s capital earlier this week.
After being afforded a starting berth in Barcelona’s Champions League opener against Newcastle United, the 18-year-old was hooked from proceedings a little over 20 minutes from time.
As much came upon Cubarsí being spotted clutching his knee.
The Blaugrana medical team subsequently strapped Cubarsí up, giving rise to concern amongst Hansi Flick’s staff.
And as alluded to above, on Saturday, the Spanish international has been forced to sit out training.
As per a report from Jijantes, Cubarsí was absent from Barcelona’s final pre-Getafe session at the Ciutat Esportiva this morning.
The status of the talented stopper to feature on Sunday evening is therefore considered as being up in the air.
