Karim Benzema returns to the UK this week with Real Madrid. Marca report that Benzema has 20 goals against English opposition, including the last 11 he has scored in the Champions League. Only Lionel Messi (27) has outscored him against English clubs.
Of the 20 goals scored against the Premier League powerhouses, Liverpool have conceded the most against Madrid’s No 9, with Benzema scoring seven against the Anfield outfit.
Manchester City have seen Benzema put six past them, as have Chelsea. They are followed by PSG and Galatasaray, with five goals conceded against the forward, who was off the boil against City in the first leg, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
His tally of six goals against City has come in eight games, one less than Messi in the same number of matches. If Madrid make it to Istanbul next month, it will be Benzema’s sixth Champions League final.
