Italian heavyweights Juventus have positioned themselves in the race to sign Elche prodigy Rodrigo Mendoza.
This comes amid confirmation that the Bianconeri are weighing up a potential offer for the Spanish starlet.
As per a report from Marca, citing Italian outlet Tuttosport:
‘Juventus have now identified the midfielder as a strategic priority to strengthen their midfield.’
Mendoza is for his part understood to have piqued the attentions of a whole host of clubs across Spain, Europe and beyond over the early months of the new season.
Still just 20 years of age, the starlet has taken to the challenges posed by top-flight football like a duck to water.
La Liga leaders Real Madrid, for one, have long been labelled as keen admirers of Mendoza’s talents.
Los Blancos, though, could be facing up to stiff competition from Serie A in the race to lure the midfielder away from The Estadio Martínez Valero.
Elche, for their part, are in no rush to sell their crown jewel, having rejected a €20 million offer for his signature over the summer.
