Jude Bellingham or Gabri Veiga? Real Madrid ready to build their next midfield

Real Madrid are currently in the process of preparing their midfield for the future. Their classic Champions League trio is coming to its end as Casemiro’s departure to Manchester United along with Toni Kroos and Luka Modrić getting on accelerates the need for evolution in the heart of the Merengue team.

Florentino Pérez has already begun the process of future-proofing the midfield with the signings of Eduardo Camavinga and Aurélien Tchouaméni, two young and extremely talented players. Now, Real Madrid are doing their homework on a third player to complete a trio.

As reported by Diario AS, Los Blancos are currently considering two options. The first, which has been well documented, is Borussia Dortmund player Jude Bellingham. He’s currently considered the top choice, and Madrid may be willing to spend up to €150m for the Englishman.

Real Madrid’s second option would be Gabri Veiga, Celta Vigo’s 20-year-old midfielder. The club’s president is already preparing for the talent’s departure as with a release clause of only €40m, he would be more economically viable than Bellingham. Despite the lower price tag, Veiga is one of the most promising prospects in football at the moment, with nine goals and three assists in 25 games as a midfielder speaking volumes.
