Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, former Spain international Juan Mata discussed various topics in a Q&A, including Real Madrid star Eden Hazard.
Hazard was the first name that came to Mata when he was asked who he thinks is the greatest ever Premier League player. The ex-Valencia winger backed his former Chelsea teammate to become a success at Real Madrid.
Mata and Hazard played together for a season and a half at Stamford Bridge before the Spanish international joined United in January 2014
“The best Premier League player… I mean, I used to love to play with, and against, Eden Hazard. For me, for many years, he was the best in the league. He could win games by himself. I used to train with him and I know how good he can be.”
“He has been very unlucky in his time with Real Madrid with some injuries, but I’m sure he’ll show his real level when he’s fit to do that and he’s not injured.”
