Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on the pecking order between the posts in his squad at present.
This of course comes fresh off the German seeing his goalkeeper options reinforced over the last week.
Following a long-term spell on the sidelines whilst recovering from back surgery over the summer, Marc-André ter Stegen is now officially back available for selection.
The 33-year-old was even afforded a place on the bench for Barcelona’s midweek meeting with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Even prior to Ter Stegen being condemned to the sidelines, though, the Blaugrana had added to their shot-stopper ranks, courtesy of the summer signing of Joan García.
With the latter having since taken over no.1 duties in his squad, the subject of the goalkeeper pecking order at the Spotify Camp Nou at present was therefore put to Hansi Flick himself on Friday.
And Barca’s headmaster was honest as ever, in responding:
“Joan García is our no.1 goalkeeper, that’s the only thing I can say. Right now I have no intention of changing that.”
