Espanyol star Javi Puado has provided a fresh insight into his contract situation at the club.
The subject of frontman Puado’s expiring terms have of course long positioned themselves front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona.
This comes with Espanyol’s captain due to see his contract run out in the summer of 2025.
The brass at Stage Front Stadium have long been hard at work behind the scenes to find an agreement over an extension, but, to date, Puado has showcased little intent when it comes to the possibility of signing as much.
Amid interest in his services from across the La Liga landscape, the subject of his contract situation was, in turn, this week put to the 26-year-old once more.
And, in quotes sourced by Mundo Deportivo, Puado refused to commit one way or another:
“The important thing right now is the team. Whatever has to happen, will happen. I am at home and I am happy here. Anything can happen. I may renew or I may not, but I am very calm. Regardless of what happens, I am a home-grown player. I cannot say anything else. I am very happy here, and if I have to renew, I will renew and I will be delighted.”
