Isco to miss Real Betis’ next match after receiving yellow card vs Sevilla

Real Betis played a hard-fought 1-1 draw against their fierce rivals Sevilla FC on Saturday night.

Isco, the former Sevilla man, opened the scoring in the 38th minute from the spot after a handball by Dodi Lukébakio inside the box.

Isco spoke to the media after the match, saying as per Diario de Sevilla, “The draw means very little, after the game we played. We had many chances in the second half and they managed to pull a draw from nothing, from a set piece”.

For the man from Málaga, receiving his tenth yellow card of the season means he will miss his side’s next match against Osasuna due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Isco also drew attention for his celebration after his goal, as he ran to the south end of the stadium where the ultras reside and pointed to the Betis crest on his shirt. This is sure to have drawn anger from the Sevilla faithful, whom he played for just 15 months ago.
