Inter Milan star Alessandro Bastoni has this week moved to play down the mounting speculation linking him with a move to La Liga champions Barcelona.
The name of stopper Bastoni has of course dominated the media headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent hours.
This comes amid the understanding that the Italian international has been earmarked as something of a priority signing on the part of the Barcelona board.
On the lookout for a central defender capable of excelling on both sides of the ball, Deco and co. have underlined Bastoni’s name in red.
Speaking during an exchange with the media on Thursday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his fresh Blaugrana links was put to the 26-year-old himself.
And in quotes cited by market expert Fabrizio Romano, Bastoni went on to explain:
“It makes me proud to see links, it means I’m doing well – but there’s zero, nothing. I’m happy here at Inter and I have zero issues or problems here. I don’t even focus on the news.”
