Inter Milan & Liverpool among clubs eyeing deal for Barcelona defender

Barcelona starlet Héctor Fort is attracting interest from a whole host of clubs from across Europe ahead of the summer transfer deadline.

This comes amid mounting speculation that the youngster is primed to depart Catalunya’s capital over the weeks ahead.

Defender Fort is for his part fresh off returning to base in Barcelona, following a stint out on loan away from his parent club. After linking up with La Liga rivals Elche, the 20-year-old managed to produce at an impressive rate (5 G/A in 17 appearances) despite being heavily restricted by injuries.

These efforts, however, evidently did not prove sufficient to convince Hansi Flick of Fort’s readiness to contribute this coming season at the Camp Nou.

As per a report from Diario Sport:

‘Héctor Fort now assumes his departure from FC Barcelona. The preseason has not changed Hansi Flick’s approach with the homegrown player.’

It is also noted that the versatile full-back is not at all short on suitors, with Inter Milan, Liverpool, Everton and Fulham understood to be keeping a close eye on Fort’s situation.

Everton, meanwhile, ‘could present the most attractive proposal’.
