A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will not make his planned return to the pitch this weekend.
That’s according to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, who points towards Eduardo Camavinga as the player in question.
Youngster Camavinga is for his part yet to take to the pitch this season.
As much comes after the Frenchman, amid the final stages of his recovery from a prior muscular injury, suffered an ankle problem last month.
Across the week to date, Camavinga ramped up his recovery efforts once more, returning to the training pitch alongside the rest of Xabi Alonso’s squad.
These developments gave rise to the hope that the 22-year-old would be cleared to play at least some part against Real Sociedad this weekend.
As alluded to above, however, this will in fact not be the case.
As per a report from Blancos insider Mario Cortegana:
‘Real Madrid midfielder Camavinga expected to be unavailable vs Real Sociedad. The plan was for him to return on Saturday but an affection to the syndesmosis is delaying the process.’
