Injured Real Madrid star closing on return to the pitch

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is closing on an upcoming return to competitive duties.

That’s according to Blancos insider Melchor Ruiz, who points towards Eduardo Camavinga as the player in question.

Midfielder Camavinga has for his part been sidelined since back in April, owing to a muscular injury.

En route to a 1-0 La Liga downing of Getafe, the Frenchman pulled up with a groin concern, which was later confirmed to have brought a premature end to his 2024/25 campaign.

The initial assumption was that Camavinga would likely also be ruled out of the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

If word stemming from the media over the last couple of days is anything to go by, however, then the 22-year-old could yet play his part in the stateside tournament.

As per the aforementioned Melchor Ruiz of COPE, after Camavinga was spotted back out on the grass on Sunday:

‘He continues to progress in his recovery. The French footballer is already starting to work on individual ball exercises.’
