Barcelona loanee João Félix has on Monday dropped something of a bombshell regarding the potential arrival of one of his fellow countrymen at the club.
The player in question? Bernardo Silva.
Midfielder Silva has of course been tipped to take his talents to La Liga with Barcelona for some time now.
With the Blaugrana long-term admirers of the talents of the Portuguese, and Silva understood to have included a Barca-specific clause in his most recent contract at Manchester City, a joining of forces has been labelled by some as a near-inevitability.
And, if the latest comments laid out by the aforementioned João Félix are anything to go by, precisely as much indeed appears to be on the cards.
Speaking in an interview with Catalunya Radio’s Tot Costa, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, on Monday, Félix was asked for the latest on the chances of Silva, a compatriot and close friend, at long last landing at Barcelona.
And though his own future at the Camp Nou remains undecided, Félix is adamant that he has done enough to convince the Man City standout of the merits of as much, with a view to the summer:
“If Bernardo Silva comes, I’m going to ask for a commission! Everything I have said is true and if he comes they will be delighted with him.
“He is very careful with everything and he asked me about places to live, places to eat, about security… He asked me a little about everything and I said about tax issues because that’s what came to mind.”
Asked directly “have you convinced him?”, Félix then concluded: “I think so, I think so. But I don’t think it depends on him.”
