İlkay Gündoğan ready to talk through post-PSG drama with Ronald Araújo

An insight into the plans of Barcelona star İlkay Gündoğan to seek out teammate Ronald Araújo for a much-needed discussion has on Thursday been provided.

As much, of course, comes amid what has proven a drama-filled couple of days for the Barca pair.

After Gündoğan made public his criticism of Araújo for his part in Xavi’s side being sent packing from the Champions League at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, the Uruguayan was in turn drawn on the subject earlier today.

And his ensuing response did not at all paint the picture of a harmonious dressing room in Catalunya’s capital at present, Araújo having explained:

“I’d rather keep for myself what I really think. I have my own codes and values that I think you need to respect.”

So, where does the situation go from here? And how will it be resolved?

An insight into as much has come to the fore on Thursday evening, courtesy of Diario Sport.

Gündoğan, it is claimed, has been left ‘surprised’ by the fallout from his comments, adamant that he never intended to single out, much less offend any of his teammates.

The former Manchester City man, as a result, intends to seek out Araújo, for a face-to-face talk at Barcelona’s training ground on Friday.

He will in turn explain his side of the situation in a calm manner, clearing the air with his teammate once and for all.

‘Everything will be solved in two minutes,’ it is assured.
