‘I hope’ – Xavi speaks on potential future return to Barcelona

Departing Barcelona head coach Xavi was on Saturday drawn on the possibility of linking back up with the club down the line.

Xavi, for his part, held his final press conference as Barcelona manager this afternoon.

As much, of course, comes after the Spanish tactician was on Friday informed that his services will no longer be required beyond the summer.

Speaking to the media ahead of Barca’s season finale against Sevilla, a whole host of topics surrounding his exit, in turn, were put to Xavi.

One question which has since piqued particular concern, though, actually related to a potential Blaugrana comeback.

Asked whether he would be open to the prospect of reuniting with his soon-to-be former employers down the line, the ex-midfielder refused to rule out the possibility, in explaining:

“Returning one day? Yes, why not. I see myself coming back. I would like to. It’s the club of my life. We have had a roller coaster of emotions, but I like being at Barça, working for Barça. I don’t close the door. I hope they give me the opportunity to come back.”
