Eagle-eyed Real Madrid supporters have highlighted a tribute paid by star attacker Vinícius Jr, to club icon Cristiano Ronaldo, on the back of their side’s latest outing on Wednesday night.
As much, of course, comes after Vinícius played a central role in Real booking their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, welcoming German outfit RB Leipzig to the Spanish capital for the 2nd leg of the Last-16 showdown between the clubs.
And, though Leipzig proved more than a match for their heavyweight hosts on the night, in the end, quality proved telling.
This came as a wonderful exchange between the aforementioned Vinícius, and attacking partner in crime Jude Bellingham, culminated in the former slotting home a fine finish midway through the 2nd-half.
This proved enough to guide Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw, and 2-1 aggregate triumph.
On the back of the full-time whistle sounding at the Santiago Bernabéu, it should, in turn, come as little surprise to hear of the name of Vinícius taking its place front and centre in the headlines.
This does not, though, come owing solely to his match-winning exploits against Leipzig.
In addition, the Brazilian’s ensuing celebration has since gone viral across social media.
As showcased below, on the same day that Cristiano Ronaldo sent a congratulatory message to Real Madrid in recognition of the club’s 122nd anniversary, Vinícius showed his appreciation for the Portuguese, by way of a celebratory tribute of his own:
