How Real Madrid plan to replace Aurélien Tchouaméni in UCL final

An insight into the plans of the coaching staff at La Liga giants Real Madrid to account for the absence of Aurélien Tchouaméni in the upcoming Champions League final has been forthcoming.

For those who may have missed it, an update on the wellbeing of midfielder Tchouaméni was provided earlier today.

And the news proved far from what those of a Real persuasion would have been hoping for.

After the France international was diagnosed with a broken foot in the aftermath of Los Blancos’ Champions League semi-final 2nd-leg downing of Bayern Munich, it was on Monday reported by a number of sources that Tchouaméni has been ruled out of next month’s competition finale.

How, then, does head coach Carlo Ancelotti intend to make up for the loss of a key member of his first-choice XI?

As per a report from Marca, the solution is a straightforward one, with Eduardo Camavinga set to man the base of Real’s midfield against Borussia Dortmund.

The Frenchman will act as the ‘pivot’, flanked on each side by Toni Kroos and Federico Valverde.

In central defence, meanwhile, a position in which Tchouaméni has also impressed of late, captain Nacho will continue alongside Antonio Rüdiger.
