An insight into the demands laid out by departing Barcelona head coach Xavi regarding the financial compensation owed to he and his staff has today been forthcoming.
The info comes courtesy of Diario AS, and points towards Xavi continuing to do right by those closest to him.
On Tuesday, the Spanish tactician will sit down with the Barcelona brass for the final time. As much will come with a view to the termination of his contract.
Xavi, for his part, has already made clear to Joan Laporta and co. that he is willing to forgo the entirety of the €12 million owed to him for the final year of his contract.
This comes with the 44-year-old eager not to add to the financial woes of the Blaugrana.
However, Xavi’s willingness to put pen to paper on such an agreement will be entirely contingent on a further guarantee – that each and every member of his departing coaching staff is paid in full for 2024/25.
As per AS, this would amount to an altogether more manageable sum for the Barca board, in the region of €3 million.
Xavi’s personal team was made up of assistants Óscar Hernández and Sergio Alegre, physical trainer Iván Torres, physio Carlos Nogueira, scouts David Prats, Sergio García and Toni Lobo, and communications manager Edu Polo, all of whom are due compensation at different levels.
