An insight into the financial windfall awaiting Barcelona and Villarreal for playing out their upcoming La Liga fixture in the United States has on Tuesday been forthcoming.
The news which shook Spanish football to its core was of course forthcoming yesterday evening.
This came by way of confirmation that UEFA had reluctantly given the green light for Barcelona and Villarreal to face off at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
The fixture, pencilled in for December 21st, will be the first in the history of La Liga to take place outside of Spain.
And safe to say, the two participants will be fully rewarded for their efforts towards facilitating the groundbreaking measures…
As per a report from Diario Sport, citing fellow Spanish outlet RAC1:
‘Barça and Villarreal will receive between five and six million euros, although the Castellón side will receive a little more to alleviate the money they will not earn from ticket sales.’
