How much did Barcelona earn from Jan Virgili sale?

An insight into the financial terms of La Liga giants Barcelona’s sale of youngster Jan Virgili has been forthcoming online.

This, of course, comes fresh off the 19-year-old’s departure from Catalunya’s capital being made official on Thursday night.

After weeks of negotiations between the parties, Barcelona at last gave the green light for Virgili to link up with La Liga rivals RCD Mallorca.

As much came with the talented winger having been facing up to a season in Spanish football’s 4th tier with Barca Atlètic.

Neither club, as part of their respective announcements, revealed the fee involved in the deal.

But as alluded to above, in the time since, an insight into precisely as much has been forthcoming in the Spanish media.

The info comes courtesy of Mundo Deportivo, who have confirmed that:

‘MD has learned that Barça will receive €4 million and 50 percent of the rights to a future sale, with a right of first refusal but no purchase option.’
