How long will Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos be out of action for?

Real Madrid issued a statement saying Dani Ceballos has picked up a thigh injury. Due to the setback, the midfielder will not be able to join the squad for their tour in the United States and will instead remain in Madrid to focus on his recovery.

Ceballos is expected to be sidelined for approximately six weeks. The pre-season training sessions at Real Madrid commenced on Monday and have proven to be physically demanding. The sessions have taken a toll on Ceballos, who had been training at home during the summer to prepare himself for the rigorous pre-season training.

The timing of this injury for the Madrid midfielder couldn’t be any worse as he faces tough competition in his position this year. The upcoming pre-season games would have provided the 26-year-old with a chance to stand out.

During the previous season, Ceballos only had one setback, in October. Following that injury, he remained relatively injury-free for the remainder of the season, gradually increasing his playing time as the season progressed.

Ceballos renewed his contract with Los Blancos a few weeks ago which runs until 2027.
