An insight into the reaction of Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong to the news of his withdrawal from the club’s latest pre-match press conference has been forthcoming online.
This comes amid confirmation that the Dutchman had absolutely no problem with the move.
Barca of course sprung something of a surprise on Monday.
After widespread confirmation was forthcoming that De Jong was pencilled in to join Hansi Flick in his pre-Eintracht Frankfurt press conference, instead, it was Gerard Martín who took his place in front of the media.
The development gave rise to swift claims of a potential issue with De Jong behind the scenes.
Diario Sport have since confirmed that this was not the case, with Martín simply rewarded with extra exposure amid a stellar recent run of individual form.
And when it comes to the response of his teammate, it is added:
‘Frenkie De Jong saw very well the possibility of Gerard Martín being ‘rewarded’ like this and gave his approval.’
