How Barcelona’s stars celebrated Antoine Griezmann’s extra-time goal vs Real Madrid

An insight into the reaction of Barcelona’s squad to Atlético Madrid’s extra-time go-ahead goal against Real Madrid on Thursday has been provided late this evening.

The latest edition of the Madrid Derby, of course, played to completion a little over 24 hours ago.

After Carlo Ancelotti’s Real emerged triumphant from the Spanish Super Cup meeting between the sides a week prior, on this occasion, it was Atléti who secured bragging rights.

This came by way of a 4-2 triumph, in the Last-16 of the Copa del Rey.

The result sparked understandable joy and celebration across Diego Simeone’s squad, who now remain in with a real shot of clinching silverware before the season is out.

As alluded to above, though, Atlético were not the only member of Spanish football’s heavyweight club to have garnered great enjoyment from their derby victory.

This comes amid confirmation that, alongside the Rojiblancos, Barcelona’s stars also engaged in celebrations at the expense of their Clásico rivals.

The info comes courtesy of Diario Sport, who have revealed that Xavi’s squad learned of former Blaugrana frontman Antoine Griezmann’s extra-time strike to put Atléti in front whilst on the runway, awaiting their flight back from Salamanca.

And the goal, it is assured, ‘was celebrated in style’, Barca’s players making use of a rare opportunity to smile amid what has proven a difficult few weeks in Catalunya.
