Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho made use of the opportunity to heap praise on Yan Diomandé in the aftermath of the club’s latest outing.
This comes after the Ivorian provided a first glimpse at his unquestionable talents in the colours of Los Blancos.
After something of an underwhelming start to life in Spain’s capital since his summer arrival from RB Leipzig, Diomandé was in from the off for the 2nd outing in succession on Tuesday.
And en route to an eventual 3-2 triumph at Elche, the 19-year-old impressed, looking full of vigour and intent, culminating in a deserved assist for his side’s 2nd of the clash.
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the full-time whistle at the Estadio Martínez Valero, manager José Mourinho was in turn drawn on the latest performance produced by his young winger.
And Real’s headmaster was full of praise for Diomandé in his response, explaining:
“Yan was so good! He’s improving, getting minutes in his legs. It’s not easy to play 90’ with a yellow card. He did an amazing job; I’m very happy.”
