An insight into the ongoing tension between Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick and a leading member of his squad has this week been provided.
The player with whom the German tactician is not getting along? Marc-André ter Stegen.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s name has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that those behind the scenes at Barcelona are attempting to push the club’s long-time no.1 out.
With Joan García’s arrival now imminent, Ter Stegen is set to become surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou over the weeks ahead.
The situation has culminated in rising tensions between club and player, with the latter currently having no intention of moving on this summer.
And, in the midst of as much, Ter Stegen’s relationship with his manager, too, appears to have taken a turn for the worse.
As per journalist Alfredo Martínez, speaking on Radioestadio Noche on Monday night:
“The only one who can unblock this situation is Hansi Flick. But Flick and Ter Stegen now have a rather cold relationship.”
