Hansi Flick’s midfield comments confirm faith in two Barcelona youngsters

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has today indirectly confirmed his full belief in the talents of two of the club’s up-and-coming midfield talents.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal as the pair in question.

Midfielders Casadó and Bernal have both been afforded the opportunity to impress as part of the first-team setup in Catalunya’s capital during pre-season.

And this is a chance which the duo have grasped with both hands.

Owing to their respective efforts in training, Casadó and Bernal have managed plenty of game-time across Barcelona’s tour of the USA, with the former having featured from the off against all of Manchester City, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

And, on Wednesday, boss Hansi Flick indirectly hinted that both will be considered for a place in his first-team ranks for the upcoming season, too.

Speaking in the aftermath of his side’s penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Milan, Flick was asked if he expects reinforcements to his engine room ranks before the summer is out.

The German, though, made use of the question to assure:

“We have several quality players in midfield, some of them are injured now but they will be back. I think we are well covered in that position.”

And, according to Mundo Deportivo:

‘Hansi Flick’s statements closing the door to further signings in the midfield confirmed the enormous confidence that the German coach has in the already established players of the first-team, as well as in Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal.
