Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is keen to bring a former member of the midfield ranks at the Camp Nou back to his coaching staff this summer.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Thiago Alcântara as the individual in question.
Ex-Spanish international Thiago of course took his place in the thick of things at Barcelona last summer.
This came after the aforementioned Hansi Flick drafted the recently-retired midfielder into his setup upon taking up the reins in Catalunya’s capital.
The German was eager to have a figure on his staff who spoke fluent Spanish and was familiar with Barca as a club during his integration period.
And Thiago, evidently, made a positive impression during his brief time in this role.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Mundo Deportivo that, after his return was put on hold back in January:
‘Thiago, for his part, is open to collaborating with Flick, and now both parties are looking for the best way to make it happen.’
