Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has requested the club’s board to pursue the signing of a fellow countryman.
That’s according to Fichajes, who highlight Angelo Stiller as the player in question.
Midfielder Stiller is for his part in the midst of another fine campaign to date, on the books of Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart.
The 24-year-old, who generally operates in a deep-lying playmaker role, is widely considered to be one of the standout talents in his home country.
Thus far this term, Stiller has taken to the pitch on 20 occasions across all competitions, chipping in with a goal and an impressive six assists along the way.
And such exploits, as alluded to above, have not gone unnoticed on the part of compatriot Hansi Flick.
As per a report from Fichajes, amid a search for a different profile of player to man the base of his Barcelona engine room:
‘Hansi Flick, with his deep knowledge of German football and Stiller’s potential, has personally asked Barcelona’s sporting director to make an effort to secure his signing.’
Stuttgart, it is added, are likely to demand a fee in excess of €50 million to part with their midfield general.
