Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is keen to bring a fellow countryman to Catalunya’s capital with a view to next season.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Nico Schlotterbeck as the player in question.
Stopper Schlotterbeck is for his part widely expected to bring a close to his time on the books of Borussia Dortmund next summer.
This comes with the stopper having made the call not to extend his contract terms, ahead of their expiration in the summer of 2027.
With Barcelona on the lookout for reinforcements at the heart of defence, Schlotterbeck has in turn long been tipped as a potential arrival.
And any such move, it would appear, would come with the full support of manager Hansi Flick.
As per a report from MD:
‘Hansi Flick, who gave him his debut with the German national team, is well aware of his qualities.’
It is added, though, that the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also in the hunt for Schlotterbeck’s signing.
