Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has late this week moved to reiterate his belief in the talents of a member of the club’s summer recruitment drive.
The player in question? Marcus Rashford.
Frontman Rashford is for his part of course fresh off taking to the pitch in Barcelona colours in a competitive setting for the very first time.
En route to a 3-0 opening day La Liga victory over RCD Mallorca, the Englishman was introduced to proceedings off the bench during the 2nd-half.
Rashford was singled out for criticism by some for the level of his performance, not quite up to the level of his attacking teammates.
As alluded to above, though, one individual in no two minds when it comes to the impact set to be had by the 27-year-old in Catalunya’s capital this season is the aforementioned Hansi Flick.
Speaking to the media ahead of Barcelona’s gameweek 2 meeting with Levante on Saturday, the German tactician was full of praise for Rashford:
“He gives us more options, he feels better playing as a number 11, but his strengths, his first touch, his speed, they help us a lot with our style of play and we can enjoy a fantastic Marcus Rashford this season.”
